WHAT IS POWERSHIELD™?

  • An effective pour-on lice treatment for sheep
  • Can be used on all adult sheep up to 7 days off-shears and on unshorn lambs up to 2 months of age.
  • Protects sheep against re-infestation with lice for 4 weeks after treatment when applied within 24 hours of shearing

RECOMMENDED FOR

  • Controlling susceptible body lice (Bovicola ovis) when applied to shorn sheep up to 7 days off shears and unshorn lambs up to 2 months of age.
  • Offering the best protection against re-infestation with four week residual activity for lice (when applied within 24 hours off-shears).

WHY CHOOSE POWERSHIELD?

  • Contains Imidacloprid

POWERSHIELD contains Imidacloprid, a neonicotinoid insecticide that kills lice quickly by affecting their nervous system, resulting in insect paralysis and death. It works fast and has 100% knockdown efficacy against lice.

  • Lasting protection

POWERSHIELD offers long lasting protection against re-infestation with four week residual activity for lice when applied within 24 hours off-shears. To prevent reinfection sheep must not be mixed with clean sheep for 6 weeks. POWERSHIELD is also rainfast and is effective on sheep that have been rained on before as well as after treatment.

  • Easy Application

POWERSHIELD can be applied with manual T-bar or power doser applicator. The entire dose is applied to sheep under 30 kg as a single broadband stripe from poll to tail butt. For sheep over 30 kg, apply half the dose as a broadband stripe either side of the midline from the mid neck to the butt of the tail. The stripes should be no further than 10 cm apart. Dose flexibility makes is convenient as it can be applied up to 7 days after shearing.

  • Blue in colour

POWERSHIELD is bright blue in colour which makes the sheep treated be easily identified. During application, the blue colour of the product will help identify any animals that may have been missed when walking back up the race and these animals can now be treated. Also ensuring the right dose has been administered is vital at this point to achieve the optimum outcome.
