INDICATIONS

Tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Spirometra erinacei) in dogs and cats including hydatids (Echinococcus granulosus) in dogs.

COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains: 50 mg Praziquantel.

DOSAGE & DIRECTIONS FOR USE

All animals should be treated for tapeworm control at three monthly intervals (every six weeks in dogs in Hydatid areas) commencing at three months of age. In addition, breeding females should be treated at mating; approximately one week before birth and thereafter every three months.

Virbac Tapewormer for dogs and cats is to be used as a single dose treatment. Tablets may be administered whole or crushed and put in food.

Dogs:  1 tablet/10 kg bodyweight (i.e. 5 mg/kg bodyweight)

Cats:   1/4 tablet (i.e. 12.5 mg) under 1.5 kg bodyweight
           1/2 tablet (i.e. 25 mg) from 1.6 to 5 kg bodyweight
           3/4 tablet (i.e. 37.5 mg) over 5 kg bodyweight

If your animal is still passing segments after the above treatment, these probably belong to a little known tapeworm (Spirometra erinacei) which belongs to a different family. It will be removed by giving one tablet of Virbac Tapewormer for dogs and cats for every 2.5 kg of body weight.
