For the treatment and control of abamectin sensitive strains of internal parasites (including benzimidazole, levamisole, and morantel resistant strains), itch mite and nasal bot of sheep.
For concurrent use with a drench from a different chemical group.
VIRBAMEC ORAL LV contains abamectin a potent, short acting member of the macrocyclic lactone (ML) family of drenches. Is highly effective against all major internal parasites that are susceptible to abamectin, including gastrointestinal roundworms and large lungworm. These worms reduce overall productivity, especially in young animals. Weight gains can be reduced by up to 20% and wool growth can be affected significantly. VIRBAMEC ORAL LV also controls itch mite and nasal bot. Abamectin has been consistently shown to be more potent than ivermectin, the other short acting ML used in sheep drenches.
A low volume formulation means you are giving smaller doses per animal, whilst still getting the same amount of active ingredient. This is an advantage when large numbers of sheep are being treated or you are treating heavy sheep. The low volume formulation allows easier and quicker drenching.
Excess selenium can cause toxicity issues in sheep, particularly if they are suffering liver damage from eating particular weeds. Where sheep are receiving sufficient amounts of selenium in their diet, it may be better to use an unselenised drench. If selenium supplementation via a drench is required, VIRBAMEC® ORAL PLUS SELENIUM is recommended.
