MEGAVITE-B® higher energy recovery paste for horses

MEGAVITE-B PASTE provides a concentrated source of nine B-complex vitamins and three amino acids. B-complex vitamins and amino acids are required for the metabolism of the carbohydrates, proteins and fats in the diet. Additionally, nicotinamide (B3), folic acid and vitamin B12 are essential for red blood cell production.

MEGAVITE-B PASTE provides a concentrated source of B vitamins and a specially selected blend of amino acid in a convenient paste form to:

  • Support muscle recovery
  • Assist recovery from injury or illness
  • Replenish muscle energy
  • Maintain appetite

  • Horses in hard training or who are “training sour”
  • Horses on high grain diets or are poor eaters
  • Travelling horses
  • Horses recovering from illness of injury

  • Aids recovery and stimulates appetite - MEGAVITE-B PASTE is a valuable supportive therapy for horses recovering from illness or injury. The readily available source of B vitamins will help in improving metabolic processes and red blood cell production, as well as stimulating appetite.
  • Assists liver function – The addition of methionine, choline and inositol provides key nutrients involved in liver function.
  • Supplements deficiencies – Grains, hay and chaff contain low levels of B vitamins compared to green feeds.  MEGAVITE-B PASTE helps to top up sufficient quantities of those vitamins for optimal health.
  • Safer and more effective than injections – Using MEGAVITE-B PASTE means avoiding unwanted issues and complications from injections such as needle-shy horses and infection.
  • Palatable and potent formulation.

Warm product to room temperature and stir contents before use. Withdraw required dose with syringe supplied. Recommended dose is 5 mL twice weekly.

  • Racing horses: Give 5 mL twice weekly over the back of the tongue. 24 hours before race day, give 10 mL to achieve high blood levels prior to the stresses of racing. The pre-race loading will also ensure the metabolic co-factors are readily available to enable a quick recovering following the race.

  • Competition horses: Give 5 mL twice weekly during periods of hard training and competition. While travelling away from home for several days, give 10 mL 4-6 hours prior to travelling and then 5 mL every third day while away. This will help replenish energy stores, encourage appetite and minimise the stress of competing in a strange environment. Ponies should be given 1 mL per 100 kg bodyweight.

  • Horses recovering from illness or injury: Following illness, injury of worm burden, MEGAVITE-B will provide a readily available source of B-complex vitamins to improve metabolic processes, stimulate appetite and assist recovery. Give 1 mL per 100 kg bodyweight twice weekly until the horse is fully recovered.
